Andy Shaw Band Review

Jan 24th, 2010 | By admin | Category: Collaboration

So, I’ve had the pleasure of stumbling onto a some material from Columbus, OH’s Andy Shaw Band. They have a very distinct, genuine sound.

I first came across a video series showcasing the band, while researching web video projects.

The Ohio Sessions series from Andrew Baasch is a great raw look at the music culture of Columbus. Andrew travels around locally with various bands and chronicles their story.

They did a great job capturing Andy Shaw Band here:

Andy, Jared and The Wet Darlings

Since Andy Shaw Band is playing a showcase at Skully’s on January 29th, with Jared Mahone and The Wet Darlings, I asked Jared’s wife, Kara, if she could fish out a couple MP3′s that we could send to local radio and media outlets to promote the show.

Andy Shaw Band sent over the song “Wise Man” and it’s got a reggae guitar, with a Matisyahu style vocal and a swing beat. It’s refreshingly raw and original.

Click directly on “Wise Man” to hear the song, and listen to others here:
