INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
Historic Dublin Business Association (HDBA) is hiring one promotions intern for April – August of 2010. Next year is the Bicentennial of Dublin, OH and many activities are planned in and around its origin, Historic Downtown Dublin. HDBA is looking to train and equip an entrepreneurial spirit with the necessary skills and experience to effectively work and interact in a small business community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We’re looking for an active learner, someone naturally gifted in communication strategy. Previous experience with non-profit organizations is desired but not required. Computer savvy with social media profile management experience is necessary. Press release writing and blogging experience is desirable. (please email examples of work)
DUTIES: (including, but not limited to)
- Collect, organize and report event details to executive board, business membership, local media and general public.
- Collaborate with other community organizations to promote partnerships, community activities and membership details.
- Flyer and post card development including basic copy writing and timely print ordering.
- Develop a target list of local organizations interested in community development initiatives, sponsorship and participation and also identify decision makers.
- Organize and confirm the booking of meeting location, attendees and presenters.
COMPENSATION:
This is an un-paid internship.*
*There is a bonus plan based on performance and predetermined sales commission on negotiated sponsorship deals.
